On August 14th, a distinctive architectural event was held in Rilang Shanghai Exhibition Hall. The gathering featured networking, discussions, industry releases, and exhibition tours. Held in a newly-completed modular building designed with intentional ambiguity, the space invites users to define it themselves. Guests experienced the structure through its striking elements—from moving six-meter-high glass doors to touching stainless steel surfaces and viewing the outside through skylights—each detail contributing to a layered narrative.
8月14日下午，在日朗门窗徐汇体验中心举办了一场集合了聚会、分享讨论、行业发布及展厅导览在内的别开生面的建筑体验活动。在上海徐汇区漕溪路198号这座从2021年开始建造、不久前刚刚建成的“房子”里──称其为房子也许不那么准确，这也是设计者希望带给人们的不同感受之一，由使用者来定义“它是什么”──每一个人都有属于自己的独特体验，从推开六米高的玻璃门，视线和肢体接触由不锈钢模块拼接而成的室内空间，到透过天窗仰望室外景致，每一处场景似乎都在诉说着耐人寻味的故事。
Since 2005, when Jilin-based heavy industry enterprise RILANG relocated to Shanghai, it marked a shift from traditional industrial methods toward precision manufacturing. The company integrates craft heritage with innovative technology to compete in the global market. During the introductions by Mr. Kou Zhongxin, Chairman of RILANG, and Mr. Fang Zheng, Marketing General Manager, the challenging journey of the enterprise was shared. Fang Zheng emphasized that the steel windows developed by RILANG are building components designed to last as long as the structures themselves. The value spanning both time and space reflects RILANG’s ambition not merely to construct projects, but to cultivate long term significance.
自2005年吉林的重工业企业日朗门窗迁至上海，象征着从传统工业方法向精密制造的转变，将传统工艺与创新技术相结合，以便在全球市场上竞争。在日朗门窗董事长寇忠信和营销总经理方正的介绍中，能够了解企业一路发展的艰辛历程。方正表示，日朗门窗所专研的钢窗产品是可以与建筑同寿命的建造部件，它所体现的时间和空间维度上的价值，决定了日朗不只是搭建项目更要孵化作品的目标。
As working with RILANG, Atelier Zeros focus on "manufacturing/construction" began with their research into the Pearl River Delta’s light industrial hub during the 2007 Shenzhen Biennale. This critical study unveiled the driving forces behind China’s economic rise since the late 20th century. Their journey continued to Shanghai in 2021, marking a significant shift toward advanced manufacturing practices.
作为与日朗门窗深度合作的项目设计方，零几建筑对于“制造/建造”的关注始于2007年深圳双年展期间对珠江三角洲轻工业中心的研究，这一重要研究揭示了自20世纪末以来中国经济的崛起。这段旅程延续至2021年上海，标志着向先进制造实践的重大转变。
Lin Yilin and Zheng Yupeng, architects in charge of Atelier Zeros, not only delivered an insightful presentation titled " Fabrication as Design ", but also engaged in a lively discussion with attendees. The discussion touched upon key themes such as “figure-ground, proportion, emotion, precision, prototype, human-orientation, interpretation, and technology.” As Lin Yilin reflected, the exhibition space may not evoke a sense of warmth, yet it offers a uniquely narrative experience. “Beauty is not the goal—what truly matters is the emotional resonance.”
零几建筑的两位主持建筑师林一麟、郑渝鹏不仅带来题为“建造即设计”的精彩项目分享，还为现场嘉宾“答疑解惑”，就“图底、分寸、情感、精度、原型、人本、理解、技术”等议题展开讨论。正如林一麟所说，这一展厅作品未必给人带来温暖的感受，但体验者的感受一定是独特且叙事性的，美不是目的，内心的触动才是。
The event was also gathering because Mr. Lin is about to embark on academic pursuits at Princeton University—a farewell held in the spirit of reunion, and a hopeful anticipation of the next meeting.
之所以将这场活动又称为“聚会”，是因为林一麟即将启程前往普林斯顿大学开启留学生涯，相聚也是别离，期待下一次相见。
